This is an exempt position as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees holding exempt positions often are required to follow a flexible work schedule, which may include working extended hours to meet specific job responsibilities. The contracted salary covers all hours worked.

This is light work requiring the exertion of force  and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.

The VHSL governed season begins the first week in August and extends through November.  The supplement base covers all daily practices and district games that occur beyond the first pre-school teacher workday in August.  Daily practices run 2 1/2 to 3 hours.  The pre-defined season consists of ten district games and two scrimmages.  

Extended day compensation covers early August practice, summer weight training, rules clinics and assigned scouting duties on an alternate basis.
