Work is performed under the general supervision of the building principal/designee. This is an exempt position as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees holding exempt positions often are required to follow a flexible work schedule, which may include working extended hours to meet specific job responsibilities. The contracted salary covers all hours worked.

 

This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.

 

This position is divided into two seasons; Fall and Winter. The fall season runs from August to November, and the Winter season runs from November to March. Knowledge of cheers, stunts, techniques and VHSL guidelines are needed. Knowledge of safety procedures and precautions are expected. Ability to work with student athletes and other adults, as well as work in conjunction with the athletic director and school administration. Extended days are applied to summer camp. Additional days may be needed for the purpose of fundraising.
