Beginning the 2026-2027 School Year

 

The Reading Specialist will support all PreK-5 staff in the implementation of the basal reading program as well as reading in the content area and supplemental and intervention programs.  The specialist will work directly with teachers providing classroom-based demonstrations, collaboration, giving one-on-one support, and facilitating teacher inquiry and related professional development.  The Specialist will focus on enhancing teachers’ ability to provide instruction that builds students’ sense of engagement in the ownership of learning.

QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree in Reading

REPORTS TO:           Principal, Title I Supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

      The length of the contract will be determined by the Carroll County School Board.  The salary will be from the Teacher Salary Scale.

EVALUATION:  

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of licensed personnel.
